How many more Mothers will morn their children?
Where are we living? What is happening in 2008? In the past months we have seen sights we never thought we would see. Now the rest of Greece is experiencing the terror that the people of Lefkimmi have been living with.
How many more victims will there be before the Greek Government finally takes a stand against the barbaric actions of the Mat and police force??????
We are no longer living in a democracy, we are frightened for the lives of our loved ones, frightened to demonstrate for our rights, worried who our neighbours are, terrorised into not knowing who to trust and where to go to find justice.
As a Mother of 3, everyday that passes brings more worry, whether my children are in Lefkimmi or Athens - are they safe? The answer is, NO. NO-ONE is safe wherever they are in Greece. You cannot wrap your family in cotton wool to protect them, but neither can we carry on fighting the Mat, waiting for the next victim.. I don't care which political party is in power, they all seem to be the same. I care about living in a safe environment, where people can say what they want, and where the peoples voices can be heard.....not in a cancer ridden waste-dump, chased by riot police and treated like a criminal.
Who is going to bring back Maria to the twins who so tragically lost their Mother in Lefkimmi and who will bring Alexi back to his family in Athens?
NO MORE VICTIMS, the politicians HAVE to listen and the time for words is over, WE NEED ACTION and we need it NOW.
